Low Tide Mandala

in 0-Library, Art, Nature, Spiritual Practice

We hiked down to Chuckanut Bay at low tide on the day before the full moon. Where water meets land, magic always happens . . .
Inhaling the scent of wild Nootka roses on the path to the beach . . .
Admiring the Chuckanut sandstone, as sensuous as sculpture . . .
Seeking treasure in the tidepools.
Then we gathered bounty from the shore, and made a mandala . . .
. . . out of cedar, sea grass, beach stones . . .
. . . alder leaves, crab legs . . .
. . . and a Nootka rose.
My sweetheart wrote a message in the sand . . .
And a few hours later, the high tide rolled in and took our offering back to Mama Ocean.
Full hearts.
Blessed be.

Thoughtful, sparkling comments. . .

Beautiful shoreline mandala, Joanna! I love the combination of the greenry and flowers of the land with the crab legs and pebbles of the waters. Delicious!
