This “Gaian Soul Chat” is one in a series of interviews with interesting people I know whose life work is intrinsically involved with Creativity, Nature and/or Spirituality. And, of course, the tarot.
Today’s chat is with Barbara Moore, tarot author, reader, teacher and consultant for tarot publishers Llewellyn Worldwide and Lo Scarabeo. We talked for about 20 minutes, so I broke the video interview into two separate parts.
Thanks Barbara. The class is going to be great! If you’re interested in joining in Barbara’s teleseminar on Tuesday evening, May 17th, sign up today for the Gaian Tarot Circle. We’re having a birthday sale — you can join for one week for one dollar (and be part of Barbara’s class!) followed by a low special price.
The tarot has been a part of my personal and professional life for nearly twenty years. I first discovered the Tarot in college. Right from the start, the tarot intrigued me with its marvelous blending of mythology, psychology, art, history mystery, and magic.
I enjoy giving a voice to tarot cards by writing the books that accompany decks. I have had the good fortune to write books and booklets for several decks, including A Guide to Mystic Faerie Tarot (Llewellyn, July 2007),The Gilded Tarot Companion (Llewellyn, September 2004), The Enchanted Oracle (Llewellyn, September 2008), The Mystic Dreamer Tarot (Llewellyn, September 2008), and Shadowscapes Tarot (Llewellyn, May 2010). My new edition of Tarot for Beginners was released November 2010. My new book on Tarot Spreads and Techniques will be released in the spring of 2012 as will my new tarot deck, The Steampunk Tarot.
I am a founding member of the Minnesota Area Tarot Symposium and have spoken at tarot conferences around the around the world.
In addition to teaching tarot classes and providing personal readings, I currently work as a consultant for tarot publishers Llewellyn Worldwide and Lo Scarabeo.
