oh i like this! yes, yes, yes! it feels so so good! 🙂

  • Marissa Fri - Jan 08th 2010 11:01 pm

Yes! Much better. I believe it, now. I know you didn’t really have much time to go back and revise, but – it’s wonderful! She looks thrilled to be *in* the water, and she’s grounded in it – although that sounds counter-intuitive.
Beautiful. I really, really like this new version. <3

Wow! Wow! So much better! I have to admit, I really was not happy wth the first version. I felt it lacked intuitivity and I needed unnecessary translation. But this – this is aaaaamazing!

I got a huge grin on my face as soon as I saw this picture. It’s perfect! (and again I’ll say, what a little darling! You lucky grandmama, you) 😀

Bravo Ms Capricorn, you made just the right tweaks and now this is such an AWESOME card. I am continually blessed to watch you as an artist who is also business savvy and the way you balance deadlines with being true to your Art/Work/Soul. I was impressed with the way Marissa was able to express constructive criticism in such an encouraging and “free-to-accept-or-reject way”, and sorry that there surely was not time to revise- and yet you found the time anyway! Kudos. And I must say I am sooo enamoured with the beauty of the Water Element in this revision, which I didn’t really notice in the first. Surely you have now captured the Mutability of water as well with this revision. ~What a Blessed Deck this will be.~

    I love it!

  • joanna Sat - Jan 09th 2010 7:13 am

Yay! Well I agree that it’s a much better card, and it didn’t take me too horribly long — maybe an hour, hour and a half. The wonders of Photoshop. Thanks so much for your suggestions yesterday, and I’m so glad I listened!

  • judy Sat - Jan 09th 2010 7:45 am

Sooo impressed with you for doing that, Joanna. The feet in the water makes all the difference in the world for me. thank you.

A writing textbook once gave me the best advice. It said a critique group works because others can point out the problems you don’t see; but once you’re aware of it, you can probably come up with a better solution.
This is so much better, just with a few tweaks. I don’t know how you did her feet like that, but it looks marvelous! Even better than if you had put a shell in her hand, as I feebly suggested.

  • joanna Sat - Jan 09th 2010 9:01 am

I do agree about critique groups, Michelle — and if I have time today I will redraw the hand w/a shell in it. That will take longer than these changes . . . it’s just a time issue right now. Thank you!

Yes, it’s much better! In the first one she kind of overwhelmed the card. Now she’s more in it 🙂 It really is wonderful to see our thoughts come to life and become part of your cards.

She is adorable! I love it! I’m sure Gracie will be amazed and very pleased when she’s old enough to realize that’s her in this fabulous tarot deck.

Lovely card, lovely granddaughter, lovely day at the beach. (What I wouldn’t give for just one day at the beach about now!)
