Oh summer! These long days and evenings that last until nearly midnight. Last night’s sunset and moonrise were truly spectacular. I didn’t take any photos (I was too busy having a conversation with La Luna Bella) but I swear my moonrise looked just like this.
It’s truly impossible to stay inside when the weather is so mild and delicious. So I moved my studio out onto the deck. The sun plays hide and seek with the clouds, the rain beats on the clear deck roof then goes away again. Rainbows appear and disappear. In the morning, the sun warms my left arm. In the evening, I shield my right side with a light shirt and a straw hat. Song sparrows trill, crows squawk, gulls scream. With one ear I listen to them, with the other I listen to Barbara Kingsolver read Animal, Vegetable, Miracle on my iPod. And I am deeply, deeply content.
