Earth Wisdom Tarot Sacred Art

Hangin' with the Tarot Tribe

in Tarot

As I write this, I’m sitting in the back of the room at the Readers Studio, next to Julie Cuccia-Watts.  We have our vending tables set up, Julie with her new Maat Tarot and me with my Gaian-in-progress.  Down the way is Bob Place of Alchemical Tarot fame (almong other wonderful decks) and Jeanette Roth from the Tarot Garden.  The rest of the room is filled with all kinds of interesting people, all with a passion for Tarot.  We even got up at the crack of dawn this morning to talk Tarot at a round table with James Wells, on very little sleep. I feel like I’m coming down with something so I’m dosing myself with lots of Emergen-C and resting during the morning session. I’ve had so many great conversations with lovely people that I’m losing my voice.

Corrine Kenner did such a great job of blogging yesterday’s morning session that I’m just going to send you on over to her blog.  Thanks Corrine!

More to come, it’s time for a break . . .

Thoughtful, sparkling comments. . .

It was so absolutely wonderful to see you again Joanna. I’m so glad I had a chance to meet Craig (in fact I’m listening to his CD now). And if you ever need another psychopomp through the NYC subways, I’d be glad to be your guide ;D

Debbie, I had so much fun with you and Diane. And I promise not to post the Hierophant & acolytes photo here, even though I am soooo tempted . . . BTW Craig just totally fell in love with your fair city. How am I going to keep him down on the island after he’s found jazz clubs that stay open until dawn? 🙂

Joanna, it was really a pleasure to finally meet you. I’ve been an admirer of your Gaian Tarot for quite some time, but also so enjoy reading your blog as well. You have such a radiant spirit. As for me feeling marginalized? Nah, not really. As I mentioned in my comment section on my blog, it was probably more a result of my early morning grouchies. Overall, the acceptance of the tarot community is so broad and exceptional.
Glad you made it home safe. Hope you feel better and get some needed rest. 🙂

It was so great to meet you and to be able to buy a signed copy of your beautiful deck! Thank you so much.
What an amazing group of people . . . I can’t wait for next year and hope to catch you on one of the teleconference calls next month.
Hope you are feeling better now. I came back to England and don’t know which way is up! I’m croaky and tired but ecstatic. However I got all these decks and books through customs I will never know.
Well I need to go and update my blog about the Readers Studio on – I’m on there as Tarotacademy.
I look forward to seeing you and Craig again next year.
    Warmest wishes,
    Mary Collin

Ginny, it was a pleasure to meet you too. Glad to hear that all is well. One of the strengths of the Tarot community is that there is room for a wide spectrum of styles and attitudes. As long as no one becomes a “tarot fundamentalist” we’ll all get along.
Mary, it was also quite a pleasure to meet you! I had an amazing trip to England last year and long to go back. Maybe someday I’ll come visit you — who knows? Blessings to you both . . .
