Earth Wisdom Tarot Sacred Art

If you could see yourself in a Tarot card, which one would it be?

In response to my post of last week, Seeing Yourself in the Cards, Lunaea wrote this comment:

Now there is an interesting question: If you could see yourself in a tarot card, which one would it be? The reason so many people see you in the Sun card, perhaps, is not so much the face or the body or whatever, but the attitude. And that’s a Good Thing. If I saw myself in a tarot card it would probably be the Nine of Earth — the woman content with her solitude and her animal/bird companions — or, alas, the Nine of Air, being nibbled on by ice weasels in the middle of the night! 🙂

Ice weasels?  What an image!

Interesting about the 9 of Earth as a choice, because that is the
card that I had intended from the beginning to be a self-portrait in
the Gaian Tarot.  It would show me in my garden here on the island with
my cats and the local songbirds, content, at home, rooted in a special
Place.  Recently my friend (and yours) Sharonah, who lives in
Manhattan, mentioned to me that she sees herself as the Nine of Earth
too.  Her version of the card would show her holding her cats (we do
like our cats, don’t we?), but standing in Central Park, with the New
York skyline in the background. I like that image too.

My interpretation of the 9’s is that they all show a solitary person
at a certain level of self-mastery and contentment, a pinnacle or high
point of sorts, before moving on to the transition of the 10’s.  And so
I’ve been thinking lately that, instead of doing my self-portrait as
the 9 of Earth, I think it will be the 9 of Water — and I’ll use one of the photos that Kat took of me in Merlin’s Cave in Cornwall as the photo reference, when I was having that mystical experience there singing to the Ocean Mother.

And so I ask you, dear Reader:  If you could see yourself as the model for a Tarot card, which one would it be?

Thoughtful, sparkling comments. . .

I’ve been thinking about this question for a few days, and enjoying the excuse to look through your cards again. While I can identify with each of these cards, I see myself most in the Hierophant.
I don’t look at all like the teacher you’ve drawn, but setting and description of the Hierophant are where I feel most at home. 🙂

Goodness me. Model for a Tarot card? I’m going to think on that one and come back – after doing a reading, no doubt, or at the very least some card contemplation!
But what a wonderful question to ask your readers. x

Well now. This was a revelation. I dreamed about the Tarot card last night! It appeared in front of my (mind’s) eye, rotating in blank space, nothing else around it, no context. Just the card.
I’m left wondering the ramifications of it, as this is the last card I would have imagined for myself, but then, none of us are entirely self-knowing and we are often surprised by life’s revelations.
I’d be interested in your impression…
    It was The Hermit. x

Oh! I just did an idle web search and came across some phrases relating to the card and at least one message was really hammered home… The italics are my own, for emphasis…
“After a long and busy lifetime, building, creating, loving, hating, fighting, compromising, failing, succeeding, the Fool feels a profound need to retreat. In a small, rustic home deep in the woods, he hides, reading, cleaning, organizing, resting or just thinking.
There was more, found here: http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/basics/hermit.shtml
but I won’t go further other than to say I found insights a-plenty!
It’s my card. It truly is. This could be my autobiography in part over the past two years! I have so much to thank you for in having posted the question, so thank you! x

The Hermit is my card. Whats yours?

My blogging friend Joanna, a beautiful and talented soul who designs Tarot cards, has posed a fantastic question on her site: if you could see yourself in a Tarot card, which one would it be? I posted a comment to the post in question last night sayin…
