Lavender Fields Forever

in Community

I worked the island Lavender Festival last weekend, which was a welcome respite from long days of commuting off-island to the nursing home. Beautiful weather, a gorgeous “purple haze,” selling artwork and hanging out with friends and neighbors . . . all balm to my spirit.

This week I’ve had meetings upon meetings with social workers and medical professionals, and today I will visit several assisted living facilities in town to choose one for my dad to live in after he is released from the nursing home. It’s difficult to make these kind of decisions for a parent; it doesn’t seem natural, somehow. At the end of their lives, we care for them the way they cared for us when we were small.

Thoughtful, sparkling comments. . .

Hi Joanna! You look soooo beautiful. I want to be in that lavender field with you. Blessed be. (P.S. I’ve put The Salmon Mysteries on a PDF on my website. I remember you mentioning it once. I still need to work on it in the future, but until that happens, at least people have access to in time for Autumnal Equinox.)
I hope it all works out for your dad.
