Craig the Night-Owl woke me up this morning about 2 AM, wrapped me up in my fuzzy bathrobe, put slippers on my feet and hustled me downstairs and out the front door to see . . . the Northern Lights. Wow. Wow. Wow.
I’ve lived in the Northwest for 15 years and this is the first time I have ever seen anything like it. Waves and ripples of light kept passing overhead, in beautiful random patterns. We have no streetlights and very little light pollution, so we had a grand view.
Can you imagine, Craig said, what our ancestors must have thought, seeing something like this? What stories did they make up? Did it frighten or enthrall them? I think it must have filled them, as it does us, with a sense of awe and mystery.
(This morning I learned that the Lights have been seen all over North America, so maybe you saw them too!)
After watching for 20 or 30 minutes, we went upstairs and crawled into bed. I listened for a long time to Craig’s easy breathing, then realized sleep wasn’t going to come back anytime soon for me, not even with a dose of Calms Forte. So I got up and assembled and packaged a few more decks.
Some of your decks have Aurora energy in them!
