Kwan Yin and the Waters of Mercy

Update: A couple of people asked to buy prints, so I set up a page for it.  I’ll donate the profits to Red Cross tsunami relief.

Joanna, this is absolutely lovely and so appropriate for the current situation in Japan. Thanks!
Would you also add it to your post in GTC, please :)

Joanna, this is perfect. I noticed the date of the picture as well. Same feelings, different devastations, the world is always changing yet somehow ever the same. May I dispel suffering and remain to dispel suffering. Your work is so beautiful.

Thanks Loran. Yes, the Kwan Yin had been in a place of honor on my altar, and in the days after 9/11, I went to the beach often, for solace and to pray. One day I just took her with me. And got this photo. I tried to make a painting of it, but really the photo just can’t be improved upon. Thanks and blessings.

I have felt an affinity for Kwan Yin for a long time. We need her compassion in our world! And, you’re right. The photo can’t be improved upon!

Oooh, this is beautiful!

I just started a chanting practice, a challenge really, to recite 1,000 mantras to Kwan Yin every day for 33 days. (I’m writing about it in my blog: http://moon-in-libra.blogspot.com/2012/11/kwan-yin.html.)
