Circles and Whispers

in Spiritual Practice

My Tarot friend James Wells sends out a lovely little e-newsletter each month. In the newest one, he ruminates on the circles in his life and goes on to highlight a number of round Tarot decks. Every time I read the intriguing descriptions of James’ classes I wish I lived in Toronto.  In a nice bit of synchronicity, he has a mini-review of Christina Baldwin‘s book The Seven Whispers: A Spiritual Practice for Times Like These in the newest e-newsletter.  I’ll be hearing Christina speak on this same topic tonight at the annual Women of Wisdom conference in Seattle. Since her “seven whispers” are appearing twice in two days, I thought I’d better pay attention.  Here’s James’ voice, followed by Christina’s:

This small and important book offers seven phrases, or “whispers”, which remind us how to listen to Spirit within us, to build relationship with that Divine power, to act upon Its guidance, and to create and maintain healthy relatedness with each other and our belovèd planet.  These phrases are:

Maintain peace of mind
Move at the pace of guidance
Practice certainty of purpose
Surrender to surprise
Ask for what you need and offer what you can
Love the folks in front of you, and
Return to the world.

Thoughtful, sparkling comments. . .

I didn’t see a way to subscribe to James’ e-newsletter at his site. Is it possible for those of us who don’t know him to subscribe?
